Summary
The latest episode of Let's Get CLEAR explores how deep corporate influence extends into government through powerful lobbying efforts. Meanwhile, conspiracy theories flourish amidst social and cultural debates, questioning the motives behind significant political and economic maneuvers. As we delve into these themes, we're prompted to consider the broader implications for society: Are we moving towards an informed and empowered future, or one that is increasingly controlled?
The Nexus of Venture Capital, Politics, and Conspiracy Theories
Venture capitalists often fund ideas, unsure if they will ever come to fruition. They must sift through data to
identify projects with potential and discern who is merely selling science fiction.
Politicians create regulations to protect and foster development within agreed-upon boundaries and limitations, not just for our current reality but for potential future outcomes.
With the information overload bombarding our inboxes and screens daily, separating fact from fake news is challenging. Yet, between truth and fiction
lies a gray space where conspiracy theories take root and flourish.
Politics, corporations, and finance are inextricably linked, regardless of one’s perspective. They drive growth but leave room for imaginative interpretations (conspiracy theories) of what is happening and who is in control.
The Grip of Big Corporations on Government
In this week’s episode of Let’s Get CLEAR, James Granger, the Chief Political Officer of Cliintel Capital, provides
provocative insights into how major corporations and “Big Pharma” are intertwined with the government. He paints a vivid picture of lobbyists, adorned with badges from corporations like Raytheon and Boeing, maneuvering through the halls of Congress—a stark illustration of the current power dynamics.
“The bigger conspiracy about Big Pharma is whether they are really in
the business of getting people healthy,” Spencer Garner.
With corporations and politicians working so closely, it’s difficult not to question the morality behind the scenes, mainly when 1% of the world’s population controls most of the wealth and seems to manipulate regulations and
reality to their benefit. Conspiracy theories have permeated human history, but now, thanks to the internet and social media, these narratives spread rapidly and, once released, are nearly impossible to debunk.
A conspiracy theory explains events as the secret manipulations of influential groups with harmful intents.

Recipe for a ‘Chilled, Not Stirred’ Conspiracy Theory
**How to Make a Conspiracy**
1 base, like an Alleged Secret Plot, Myth, or Parable
Simmer on low economic turmoil until a Group of Conspirators begins to bubble to the surface.
Sprinkle with Loosely Supported Evidence until the Group of Conspirators turns the color, Everything is Connected, or a shade of There are No Coincidences
Once thoroughly heated divide life into Good or Bad.
Mix in any group labeled “Bad” and blend until a scapegoat emerges.
Remove from pan, allow to ferment until it has has doubled in size, with plenty of conspirators on the surface and throughout cultures, and then disseminate quickly before it cools, regardless of any new information. The
trick is not to overthink it, or you will fall down a rabbit hole; just stick to the recipe and follow the steps.
Good Old-Fashioned Conspiracies or Hidden Truths?
1. Prohibition
Conspiracy theorists touch on the historical parallels drawn between the prohibition eras of alcohol and cannabis, suggesting that these are not merely decisions of morality but strategic economic controls, highlighting how
political and corporate interests shape these regulations.
This theory posits that Prohibition curtailed individual freedoms, stifled competition, and fortified existing power structures.
Keeping the working class subdued prevented challenges to the status quo.
Prohibition didn’t reduce societal issues but rather fostered an illicit market, increased violence, and corruption, infringing on individual freedoms—perhaps intentionally to maintain control and suppress dissent.
Both were influenced by social solid movements aimed at preventing moral decay and involved government regulation of personal behavior to protect public health and morality.
Economic interests were significant in both cases.
For alcohol, industries such as textiles and pharmaceuticals benefited from eliminating alcohol production—a notable economic competitor. Similarly, opponents of cannabis legalization, including pharmaceutical companies, alcohol
brands, perceive legal marijuana as a financial threat.
Both alcohol and cannabis prohibitions have disproportionately affected certain social and racial groups, targeting and
incarcerating people of color and contributing to significant social and racial injustices.
2. The Rise of AI, AR, and ‘Skynet’ is Real
The conspiracy surrounding artificial intelligence’s impact on society and potential downfall captivates many, while the advancements it promises could lead to significant technological efficiencies. For those new to current AI conspiracies, resources like the TV series The Peripheral, set in a future where technology connects to an alternate reality, and films like The Terminator provide a cultural touchstone for understanding these fears.

Psychological Benefits of Conspiracies
“There is not one big cosmic meaning for all; there is only the meaning we each give to our
life, an individual meaning, an individual plot, like an individual novel, abook for each person.” ―Anais Nin
Conspiracy theories can provide a sense of meaning and purpose, imbuing our lives with a feeling of significance and motivating us to take positive actions.
They offer instant gratification that satisfies emotional needs, and holding passionate beliefs can be grounding.
Being part of a group with shared beliefs can enhance our sense of identity and self-understanding.
How we perceive our beliefs influences our interactions with others and our approach to life.
It’s crucial to periodically evaluate our belief systems, including conspiracy theories, to integrate new information and lead a more fulfilling life.
As we navigate our technological and political choices, we are left to ponder what kind of future we are setting up:
Are we moving towards a more informed, empowered, controlled, and segmented society?
Join us next time as we continue to unravel the complex layers of our modern world.
