The people-focused venture capital firm’s founder and CIO earned recognition for his leadership, innovative contributions within his organization and community involvement

DENVER — (Sept. 6, 2022) — Cliintel Capital, a venture capital firm providing funding and strategic consulting to growth-oriented companies in emerging vice sector markets, today announced that its founder and chief investment officer, Rick Batenburg, was selected as a 2022 C-Suites Award winner by Denver Business Journal.

“Behind every great leader is an even better team, so being recognized for our hardworking team’s drive and dedication is beyond rewarding,” said Batenburg. “I am extremely proud to be part of such a distinguished list of local leaders who share our passion for elevating the Denver region and its business community. Every day, I look forward to collaborating alongside a talented, tight-knit team to make my vision of creating real-world value through venture capital a reality.”

In addition to Batenburg, the 2022 C-Suite Awards honored C-suite executives, regional managing partners and other high-ranking executives who have also demonstrated vital leadership and business savvy in guiding their organizations toward success. The annual awards program is in its fifth consecutive year recognizing executives leveraging innovative tactics, management expertise and involvement in the local community to advance their company’s vision.

“Leaders like Rick play a vital role in executing our mission to create value for stakeholders and portfolio companies, equipping those organizations with the tools and support necessary to grow and succeed,” said Monica Pina, senior vice president of investor relations. “In the past year, Rick has helped expand our volume of portfolio companies by adding corporate governance and investor relations as service offerings. He truly connects ideas, people and resources to help companies on the cutting edge mitigate risk and boost profitability. At Cliintel, we are honored to work with Rick and recognize that this honor is well deserved.”

Nominated by their colleagues, bosses and friends, winners were scored based on the impact on their organizations, within their industries and in the greater community and selected by a team of third-party judges. All winners predominantly work — and their companies have a significant presence — in the Denver metro area. This year’s winners will be celebrated at an in-person cocktail reception on Sept. 21 at Denver Art Museum’s Sturm Pavilion.
